Powerball Jackpot Soars to $550M for Saturday Drawing

If you draw the Powerball winning numbers in Saturday’s lottery, you could score $550 million, or a $350 million one-time payout.

Powerball results were watched closely Wednesday when the jackpot was $363 million. After no one picked all six winning numbers, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 19 drawing is now $550 million. The one-time cash payout is estimated at $350.1 million. Tickets are $2 and the game is played in Massachusetts and 42 other states, including Florida, Texas, California and New York. For a full list of lottery agents in Boston, click on this link. $1 Million Winning Ticket Bought in South End

The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven store on Washington Street.

Someone who bought their Powerball ticket in the South End won $1 million last night. Although no one in Massachusetts hit all six numbers to win the full $579 million Powerball prize, two people in Boston have each won $1 million. The two winning tickets sold in Boston for $1 million were purchased at the 7-Eleven store at 1306 Washington St. in the South End and the City Convenience store at 23 Beacon St.  The owner of the 7-Eleven Store in the South End said he was "very happy for the winner, and very happy for the store, too," as the store will benefit from a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.  There were two grand prize winners Wednesday night, according to the Powerball website.
