Beer-Tasting Event Draws Quite the Crowd
United South End Settlements "Brewers Helping Neighbors" created a buzz on Thursday.
Around 300 Boston humanitarians gathered at the Harriet Tubman House to drink beer after beer after beer. Who knew community service could be so fun? The United South End Settlements (USES), held its second annual “Brewers Helping Neighbors” event on Thursday, Jan. 27, nearly doubling its attendance from last year. For $40 a ticket, a mix of young professionals and mature volunteers sampled over 20 beers from six different breweries—Blue Hills, Clown Shoes, Harpoon, Mayflower, Mercury, and Sam Adams. All six breweries donated their time and alcohol, allowing nearly all the proceeds from the event to go directly to United South End Settlements.
