7-Eleven Owner: "Very Happy For the Winner"

The owner of the South End 7-Eleven store that sold the $1 million winning ticket was all smiles on Thursday.

Some lucky person won $1 million on Wednesday night, and he or she bought the winning lottery ticket at the 7-Eleven Store at 1306 Washington St. in the South End. Zenalem Ayale, owner of the store, said he's happy his store was the one to have sold the winning ticket. "I'm happy for the winner, and for the store too,"  he said.  That's because the store gets a financial bonus for having sold the winning ticket. The two winning tickets sold in Boston for $1 million were purchased at the 7-Eleven store at 1306 Washington St. in the South End and the City Convenience store at 23 Beacon St.  The owner of the 7-Eleven Store in the South End said he was "very happy for the winner, and very happy for the store, too," as the store will benefit from a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.  There were two grand prize winners Wednesday night, according to the Powerball website. Massachusetts is one of 42 states that play Powerball. Did you have any of the winning numbers?

5-16-22-23-29-6. You're shopping for mansions in Marblehead, driving the Bugatti you bought first thing Thursday morning to get there. There were two grand prize winners Wednesday night, according to the Powerball website. Neither was sold in Massachusetts, but four lucky souls from the commonwealth did win a million-dollar payday by hitting five numbers, including two in Boston. Don't tear those tickets up if you missed all six numbers. If you got some combination of numbers, you may be able to recoup some of the money …
