The 2013 SoWa season begins on Sunday, May 5th and will run through October.
The 2013 SoWa Open Market will feature its usual open market, vintage market and farmer's market, and this year, will include an expanded lineup of food trucks, featuring more than 35 different food vendors and restaurants on wheels. The market opens for the 2013 season on Sunday, May 5th. The open market, which will be celebrating its ten year annivesary this year, is open every Sunday from May through October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with several different locations up and down Harrison Avenue in the South End's SoWa district. The city's food truck program that launched in 2011 is gearing up for the spring 2013 season.

Even though the main open market is done for the season, the SoWa vintage market and the food truck court will live on throughout the winter.
Although the South End's SoWa Open Market is done for the season, the vintage market and the food truck court on Harrison Avenue will continue on year-round, according to information on the SoWA Facebook page. The main open market ended on Oct. 28th with the "Market of the Living Dead," when patrons were encouraged to come in zombie costumes and compete for costume prizes. The vintage market has continued on, tucked inside the warehouse located at 460C Harrison Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday. The Boston-New York sports rivalries have tilted a bit recently toward our obnoxious neighbor down I-95. So what? On Saturday, Boston won where it counts: The Food Truck Throwdown. The daylong competition pitted seven food trucks from Boston against seven food trucks from New York City as contestants vied for the title of Best Food Truck. If you love food and you hate New York, you're going to want to head downtown this weekend for the first ever Boston vs. New York City Food Truck Throwdown. The daylong competition pits seven food trucks from Boston against seven food trucks from New York City as contestants vie for the title of Best Food Truck. The food trucks officially return to the streets of Boston this weekend and the South End now has a new location. Mayor Tom Menino released the 2012 schedule for the City of Boston Food Truck Program on March 20, simultaneously announcing four new sites—including one at Tremont and Berkeley Streets, across the street from Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in the South End. The city also announced the first three-truck cluster at Stuart Street and Trinity Place in nearby Copley Square.
