Pet of the Week: Snowy, A Sweet 8-Year-Old Cat

You can adopt Snowy from the Animal Rescue League of Boston in the South End.

Looking to adopt a pet? Now up for adoption at the Animal Rescue League of Boston is Snowy.  Snowy is an absolute sweetheart! At 8 years old, Snowy has been moved around a lot, so she is a bit on the shy-side but warms right up away when you give her affection. When people open her cage to visit, she jumps right up to give them head nudges on their hands. Snowy would do best in a quiet home where she will be doted on with plenty of love. She lived with another cat in her previous home and would probably do well with another mellow cat. She has already been spayed, and is ready to go to her final home today! Girl and Rescued Kitten Reunited in South End

5-year-old Myra rescued a tiny kitten from a trash can in Roxbury a few weeks ago. See how their reunion went at the Animal Rescue League in the South End.

Myra, 5, had been walking along the street with her mother in Roxbury when a sound she heard coming from a trash can stopped her in her tracks.  There, wrapped in not one, but two plastic bags and inside a trash can, was a tiny gray and white kitten.  Myra and her mother took the kitten home and called the Animal Rescue League, who determined the kitten was only five weeks old and needed special care.  The kitten is now in foster care until she's ready for adoption, but in the meantime, Myra got to take a special trip to the South End's Animal Rescue League to be reuined with the kitten, who she named Paisley.  "Paisley has been in foster care for the past two weeks and has grown and filled out," the Animal Rescue League wrote in a blog …

Baby Kittens Found on West Dedham Street

The Animal Rescue League of Boston rescued three tiny kittens found in a back yard on West Dedham Street on Sunday.

Three tiny kittens were rescued from a South End back yard on Sunday. A family first discovered the kittens a few days ago in their West Dedham Street backyard, then called in the Animal Rescue League of Boston. "They weren't able to find the mom, so they felt the best thing to do was bring them to us so they could be provided with around-the-clock care in a foster home," Animal Rescue League said in a Facebook post. The kittens are only two weeks old, so they are getting bottle feedings eery three hours, said the ARL. "These babies are currently shacking up with one of our most experienced foster-parents beause they are unable to eat on their own," the ARL wrote. "We sure are lucky to have such fabulous foster-parents at the League!" …

Rugby is an adorable 1-year-old chihuahua mix that was transferred to the Animal Rescue League of Boston from another area shelter. He is a shy boy that would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. He warms up to women quickly, but is much more apprehensive towards men. Once comfortable, this little guy is very playful and a joy to be around. He loves to prance while out on walks but would love to sleep in your lap for hours while you read a book or watch TV. Rugby likes other dogs that are calm and could probably easily adapt to living with a cat. For more information on Rugby or any of the…

Clark is an active boy with a lot of energy looking for a job to do and a family to please. His enthusiastic bark would make him a better candidate for a house rather than an apartment. We would recommend Clark go to a home with older children and an active family as he is still learning his basic manners. He does have some skin allergies so his new owners should be willing to consult their veterinarian on this issue. If you want a fun, high energy dog to become a member of your family, Clark is your guy! For more information on Clark or any of …
