Originally slated for highway development, the Southwest Corridor Park today serves as a pleasant pedestrian walkwayMore connecting four Boston neighborhoods and offering recreational and outdoor space for residents and visitors. The 50-acre park stretches 4.7 miles from Back Bay Station to Forest Hills in Jamaica Plain and includes 11 playgrounds, two spray pools, seven basketball courts, five tennis courts, two street hockey rinks, two amphitheatres, and paths for biking, jogging and walking.

The South End portion of the Corridor Park features the Carleton Dog Park, an off-leash gated area for dogs, Titus Sparrow Park with its tot lots and basketball and tennis courts, Carter Playground and numerous community gardens.
