President Asshat since day one has been set out to destroy the “white devil” (justRead More listen to his community rally speeches). Ignorant people voted for him and ignorant people are still chanting his name “Heil Obama” … Just like Hilter and Stalin he wants a “planned economy” destroying producers forcing the people to be more reliant on government; which the ACA is designed to do. I believe that Asshat is causing more problems so when his section “8” lease is up, he can blame his replacement on the troubles “look, I needed more time, not my fault”.

We have been shopping at Demoulas in Burlington for years and were thrilled when they opened theRead More store in Tilton, NH so we could stock our summer home as well. ALWAYS good and cheerful service with employees strolling the aisles to serve customers and checking for items not on the shelves. Even at busy times there are workers at the registers shifting customers into shorter lines and apologies from the cashiers for any delays in checking out. MOST IMPORTANT - the produce is FRESH and bountiful. In earlier times we sometimes had to shop elsewhere but the new larger Demoulas stores have GREAT PRODUCE selections. What more could you want? Good Luck to all the employees during this difficult time. IF they remain faithful to Demoulas they will be rewarded. H. Chmela, Lexington, MA

Remember when strikes forced Eastern Airlines to go under in 1991, and Frank Lorenzo lost control ofRead More the business? It appears that the same might happen to Market Basket, if this situation isn't solved soon. Let Artie T, buy the business, get employees back to work, deliver goods to the stores, and bring the customers back.

Of course it will happen if these fools don't smarten up--they have 71 buildings--the money is inRead More the selling of product and right now they are selling nothing--so each day the value goes down and they don't seem to getit.

With all of the Market Basket hype I am concerned me as a Tewksbury resident that the largestRead More single tax payer to the town of Tewksbury is in economic turmoil. Tewksbury is home to Market Basket and its headquarters. Tewksbury residents should think twice. If Market Basket were to fail the loss of tax revenue to the town of Tewksbury would be hard felt.

Apparently goats don't react to poison ivy. If they do this is a very bad idea.
Bryant Hopkins July 24, 2014 at 10:06 am
Goats LOVE poison ivy! They chew the stuff all day long, then later on leave "fertilizer"Read More behind so that more desirable plants can grow where the poison ivy grew. It is great for the goats and for those of us (roughly 1 in 7 people) who are extra sensitive to the "leaves of three". Just don't pet goats working over a poison ivy patch, as the urushiol oils (the "poison" in poison ivy) that come in contact with the goats will not harm the goats but will get onto whomever comes in contact with the goats. Sadly, poison ivy is one plant that will benefit from climate change in the coming years, so here one issue that tree huggers and climate change deniers who hate poison ivy can agree upon - WE NEED MORE GOATS!

Chelmsford should rent some goats to take care of invasive plants growing up the telephone poles andRead More around the fire hydrants. Concord has used goats very successfully. There is a lot of inch by inch plants in Chelmsford. Chop the plant close to roots and pour a couple drops of vinegar. Pull down the rest of vine.

Why are we finding out on Jul 22 that fresh fruit sold between Jun 1 & Jul 12 are beingRead More recalled? What are the chances that fruit that old is not rotten by now? Pretty lousy timing on the notification. Who was foot-dragging, the FDA or the news?

lol...I was wondering same thing, Keith Lucy; why would anyone care who gets their blood, as long asRead More they NEED it. Here's one for you on-the-fencers; a veteran nurse once told me that one pint of blood can service up to FIVE (5) premature babies. That should be enough fodder to push you into a Red Cross blood drive.
David July 24, 2014 at 09:05 pm
The point...Keith and sph...is that this patch crap posts the same stuff regional. RI gets its bloodRead More from the RI Blood Center and when Red Cross swoops in the blood goes anywhere. RI ends up with shortages and the needs here get tight. I don't care who gets the blood and encourage any able bodied person to donate. That was an FYI for anyone from RI reading this post that may think that they are helping in RI when they are not. And yes...when Mass calls for blood from the RI Blood Center and they are able to they send it. Same goes for when people donate after a tragedy thinking they are directly helping. They are not. A lot of the blood ends up going bad because they get too much. If called they will always ask you to donate year round and avoid the urge to 'help' during a tragedy. Just call and ask and they will tell you that...ANY blood center.

The thousands of people who showed up in protest are hard working employees and customers who wereRead More treated with honor and respect by Arthur. Numerous "business" reporters are predicting that MB will be sold to some "hedgeRead More fund", who could care less about the customers or the employees. The hedge investors will milk it the business for all they can and then sell a few locations and close all the others. This is the Bain Capital model. You know, Bain Capital of Mitt Romney fame.
Tewksbury2001 July 23, 2014 at 06:05 am
@Rick- I think they need all the shareholders to approve that sale and I don't see that happening. IRead More think Artie S underestimated the impact of this, however he obviously knew enough to not name himself CEO but rather two outsiders that can take the media hit on this. If I were the two CEO's I would resign. They can't recover from this. Perhaps Artie T should have just put in a recurring dividend payment to shareholders to provide them with some liquidity and maybe that would have kept. them happy and he could continue to run the business.
This guy deserves his bad reputation.

Tyler, you're an idiot if you assume that I watch FOX news. Don't assume everyone who disagrees withRead More your propaganda filled mind is a "right-winger". Kool-aid drinkers like you who continue to stoke the left vs. right flames do nothing but send this country down the tubes at an even faster rate. Politicians, left and right have granted themselves special treatment and consider themselves above the law. DeLeo is prime example of behind the closed door vote buying and cronyism. Of course he won't be indicted or ever convicted of any wrong doing... the system is corrupt and broken. Anyone who pushes against his type will find their careers in ruin. There is little worse for this country than a life long politician. Term limits would spell a BIG win for the American public.
