Frank Haggerty April 24, 2014 at 07:34 pm
How about New Bedford High School is the worst in the state and has the most violence - They laidRead More off half the teachers last year and are building a 100 million dollar ocean wind turbine port that will probably never be used - Why not a story about New Bedford ?
Nancy Gilberg April 24, 2014 at 08:07 pm
Karen, I was thinking the same thing. Missing student found dead...and hey, how about those homeRead More values, and let's go shopping! Just awful. (Gordon, use the down-arrow to view the sad story about the student, which is first in the headline, but last in the queue.)

It's great to see progress occurring, and long-over improvements being made to U.S. publicRead More transportation. We're still far behind the Europeans and Chinese—which is pathetic and appalling, considering that passenger service began in MA over 175 years ago. To be fair, U.S. public transportation, as a whole, has been grievously underfunded (in favor of cars, trucks, and buses), & railroads and trolley lines were systematically neglected and dismantled nationwide over the past 60-odd years—often by a cabal of auto, tire, oil and other companies, a strategy designed to pressure the public into purchasing cars, and riding buses. At last, the citizenry has realized that it was a mistake to let that happen, & is actively advocating for an expansion and improvement of public transportation. Thus this is about more than trains: it's about basic human rights, a sustainable transportation system, & environmental justice. SOP ('Save Our Planet').

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Carrie March 27, 2014 at 06:56 pm
I don't find this meaningless.
Dennis Naughton March 28, 2014 at 08:17 am
What would really make it meaningful is addressing the root causes.
Joe Piantedosi March 28, 2014 at 07:18 pm
The root cause is obvious: Middlesex County is much wealthier and better educated than the otherRead More counties. Fewer people smoke and they eat healthier. Also in the poorer counties most residents lead harder lives. They work in hard manual labor jobs and can't afford health clubs and other health related programs.
