Wally's Jazz Cafe
617-424-1408
This historic bar at the corner of Massachusetts and Columbus has been ground zero for live jazz in Boston since 1942, having hosted everyone from the greats and godfathers of jazz to current Berklee musicians who want to take to the small stage and blow. The crowd is about as eclectic as they come, but there almost always is a crowd. The cafe does not serve food, aside from bags of chips.
