Established in 1899, the Animal Rescue League is committed to rescuing domestic animals from cruelty and neglect. Its Boston headquarters houses administrative offices, animal housing, an adoption center, a veterinary clinic, four ambulances and the majority of the non-profit's law enforcement department. The adoption center carfefully matches potential pet owners with hundreds of shelter animals including horses and livestock in need of permanent homes. The veterinary clinic provides routine checkups, vaccinations, dental work and spay/neuter services as well as more advanced diagnostics.
