Halloween Festival in Blackstone Square

Face-painting, pumpkin decorating, live music, dog costume contest, food trucks, beer garden and candy, candy candy!

WGMS hosted a fun-filled Halloween Festival in Blackstone Square on Saturday Oct. 27th. Thanks to some good weather (just before the storm) and exceptional assistance a great day was had by all! Five food trucks- Bon Me, Go Fish, Roxy's Grilled Cheese, The Cookie Monstah and Chubbie Dogs- sold some delicious eats, while Stella at 1525 Washington opened its outdoor patio as a beer garden for our 21+ guests. Inside the park kids lined up to have their faces painted by Nicole Disante and decorate pumpkins donated by the Friends of Blackstone/Franklin Squares. Then they trick-or-treated at info tables set up by neighborhood organizations. Live music by The Pennies and Kina Zore entertained the crowds.

Best of all was the dog costume contest though! Judged by experts from Polka Dog Bakery, D'Tails Pet Boutique, Bark Place and the Animal Rescue League over 50 dogs paraded in all sorts of crazy get-ups! And Sheila Dillon from the Department of Neighborhood Development gave out a key to the city made out of a treat to her favorite pooch!

See the pics from the crazy day and don't miss it next year!
