A "massive" teen-sexting investigation spanning six Virginia counties is underway following the discovery of nude photographs of a 14-year old and two 15-years olds on Instagram.
WTVR-TV reports that investigators have now uncovered more than 1,000 sexually explicit photos being shared on two Instagram accounts involving more than 100 teens.
So far, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Orange, Goochland, and Hanover counties are involved, but the investigation is continuing.
Investigators have seized nearly 24 cellphones in the investigation, the station reported.
"These pages weren't readily accessible to the public," Major Donald Lowe of the Louisa County Sheriff's Department told WTVR. "You had to know what page to go to, and then you had to contribute something in order to get the address to the second page that contained the images."
