YIN YOGA WITH SARA

Loosen Up, Chill Out, and Recharge Yin Yoga Tight back or hips?  Inflexible?  Can’t get into certain poses?  It’s not your fault, my yin class enable you to practice the fundamental yin postures and learn how your bone structure plays a significant role in your yoga practice.  You will also learn how to modify and make adjustments in your poses to accommodate your body.

ABOUT THE CLASS Yin yoga is a system of yoga that specifically targets the lower back, pelvis, and hips to maintain or regain this much elasticity is needed that we lose over time by gently stretching the connective tissues (fascia) in the body.  The postures (mostly seated) are held for longer periods of time (3-5 mins) to create flexibility, mobility in the joints, more efficient energy flow in the body, and to quiet the mind.  Expect to feel deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, and more compassionate towards your body.  Yin serves as an excellent compliment to any active yoga practice or lifestyle.  All levels, no experience required.

ABOUT THE TEACHER My name is Sara Castaneda and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with over 500 hours of teaching experience.  I teach many styles of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, and Kripalu.  Along my teaching path, I read articles on the benefits of doing Yin.  I have tight hips myself and was determined to begin practicing.  I found a class, attended and fell in love with the practice.  It is a contemplative practice that really allows you to find stillness in mind and body.
