According to the official Boston Marathon website, many South Enders have registered to run in the 2021 Boston Marathon. For the days leading up to the marathon, we will feature some of our South End marathoners and encourage you to cheer each of them to the finish line!
Name: Amanda Lillis
Marathon Experience: Lillis will be running her first marathon this year in Boston, and will be doing so in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“Twenty-six point two miles, I must be crazy,” she said. “But I’m running for a terrific charity and a great cause.”
Lillis certainly lucked out with the mild winter, but, nonetheless, said it has been a long training season and she is looking forward to her hard work and training paying off when she crosses the finish line in Copley Square on April 16, in what nearly every Boston Marathon finisher says is one of the most humbling and exhilarating moments imaginable.
