Want to help college-bound high school seniors in the South End pay for their first-semester books, supplies or a computer?
The event, in its sixth year, provides $1,000 scholarships to the matriculating students in June to help defray some of their college costs, other than tuition.
Last year, the association awarded eight scholarships, and, this year, members are hoping to give out more.
The silent auction items will include local art, gift certificates to South End restaurants and other South End retail items. There will also be a live auction with a one-of-a-kind culinary experience up for grabs – a night in the kitchen with a local chef, followed by a dinner for four by the chef (with wine) and two signed cookbooks.
Tickets are $25 prior to the event, and $30 at the door. They’re available for purchase at the association’s website.
