Warren Campaign Beefs Up War Chest in First Quarter of 2012

She has raised more money so far in 2012 than incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown, her campaign says.

The following is a release issued by the campaign of Elizabeth Warren

With final fundraising numbers still being completed, early comparisons show Consumer Advocate Elizabeth Warren has outraised incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown in Massachusetts during the first quarter of 2012.

"Elizabeth knows that powerful interests are lining up against this campaign, and she is committed to building the strong grassroots army that's needed to win," campaign manager Mindy Myers said. "More than 30,000 people from 350 towns across Massachusetts have made contributions to power Elizabeth's fight for middle class families, and we're grateful for their support."

Elizabeth Warren’s campaign raised $2.5 million from Massachusetts donors, bringing the campaign’s total number of grassroots contributors to more than 30,000 in the Commonwealth, with 70 percent of Warren’s in-state contributions totaling less than $50.
