South End Neighborhood Results - Mayor Preliminary Election 2013

The voting in South End precincts for the 2013 preliminary elections Tuesday reflected a different set of preferences that the citywide vote. Although John Connolly came in first in votes in many districts, Mike Ross was a close second in many areas, with Charlotte Golar Richie, Marty Walsh and Felix Arroyo also getting high percentages in some areas.  

There was relatively low turnout overall in the South End's precincts (Boston's Ward 3, Precinct 7, Ward 4, Precincts 1-4, and Ward 5, Precincts 1, Ward 8, Precincts 1 and 2, and Ward 9, Precinct 2), with averages hovering between 18 percent to 25 percent voter turnout, depending on the area. 

Overall in Boston, Walsh topped the ticket with a little over 18 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results posted by the Boston Election Department. Connolly claimed over 17 percent of the vote. Third-place finisher Charlotte Golar Richie took home over 13 percent of the vote.
