Romney + Adultery Billboard: Funny? Inappropriate? Both?

Very social networking site uses Romney's image to knock his tax practices and encourage people to have affairs.

Mitt Romney is a cheater—at least on his taxes—according to online, extramarital personals website AshleyMadison.com.

The very social networking site posted that opinion on a billboard in South Boston this week, and the message lasted for less than a day.

The billboard featured an image of Gov. Romney putting his finger in front of his lips in the universal sign for "Shhh..." juxtaposed with the message: "if cheating on your taxes is ok, so is... AshleyMadison.com."

The ad ended with the company's tagline of "Life is short. Have an affair," and it ended its tenure along the roadside in less than 24 hours.

While Romney's tax practices have come under criticism for the use of Caribbean and Swiss bank accounts, there is no evidence the tactics aren't perfectly legal.

An AshleyMadison representative told Boston media that the billboard company pulled the ad because it had generated many complaints.

What about you? Would you complain about this ad? Is it funny? Offensive? Fair play? Tell us in the comments.

What's the difference! They are all the same.

Yes, Obama 2012. At least he tries to represent ALL the people. The differences in the 2012 election are stark and the most dangerous I've seen in my lifetime. "We The People" stand to lose a great deal if we make the wrong choice. The Iraq War has already cost us a refreshed, repaired and renewed national infrastructure. There is a need for serious flood control projects for several rivers and a need to cache fresh water to prevent flooding and provide irrigation for the nation's agriculture when the weather does not provide it. We badly need regional and national level public transportation with locally expanded walking and bicycling in towns and cities to both exercise our population and reduce our dependency on petroleum. Mitt is not a bad guy but the man that is there now is capable of doing a better job. Besides, the conflict in Afghanistan is still going on and there are several international issues getting attention from the current administration. It would be unwise to change boats in mid-stream while so much work is in progress.

The billboard, by the way, I thought was quite humorous as did several adults I know that also saw it. In no way did I think it was a slander against Mitt. There are those who take offense with bawdy humor but that is the way human beings are wired and I don't question the profound intellect that made us that way. Mitt probably laughed at it.

This billboard ad is a blatant attempt to be inflammatory and solicit news stories (which you granted) ... and it honestly makes you question whether Romney has cheated on his marriage? No logic involved in that comment whatsoever. I'm not a Romney fan, but please try to think through things a little before you post given people associate your comments with The Patch and reporters in general.

I automatically don't trust anyone that uses the term "lamestream".
