Massachusetts Democrats to Host B-day Party for 'RomneyCare'

On the sixth anniversary of Massachusetts’ landmark healthcare reform, the Massachusetts Democratic Party is looking to thank former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who is also the GOP's presidential candidate come November.

The Massachusetts' Dems will celebrate by serving cake and punch to celebrate what they deem "RomneyCare’s birthday." The event will take place today, at 77 Summer St., in Boston, which is also the Massachusetts Democratic Party's office. 

No word on what time cake and punch will be served, but a press release from the Massachusetts Democratic Party confirmed the event starts at 3 p.m.

"It's hard to believe that it was only six years ago that then-Governor Romney shared the President’s position that we should take on rising health care costs and provide affordable, accessible health care to all Americans," said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh. "Mitt even included the individual mandate as part of the health reform legislation he signed into law in Massachusetts, which served as the national model for the Affordable Care Act. Mitt Romney should be proud of what he and Ted Kennedy started six years ago today."
