Two teenage girls, ages 15 and 13, were arrested Wednesday night after they allegedly stole a woman’s cell phone near the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Parker Street.
The woman was walking on Huntington Avenue near the Museum of Fine Arts and talking on her phone just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the girls came up from behind her, grabbed her phone out of her hands and took off running, according to police.
The woman attempted to chase the girls but was tripped by an unidentified male, who was working with the girls, police said. The woman told police she fell and, as a result, cut her right knee on the ground.
A witness told police that he saw the girls headed toward the Ruggles MBTA station.
Officers from the Boston Police Department, MBTA Transit Police and Northeastern University then responded to Ruggles, where they recovered the woman’s phone and arrested the girls for unarmed robbery.
