Roof Deck Fire on Greenwich Park

The Boston Fire Department put out a small fire on the roof deck of a South End brownstone on Tuesday morning.

A small fire started on the roof of a Greenwich Park brownstone building on Tuesday morning, prompting a response from the Boston Fire Department.

Boston Fire responded at 11:36 p.m. for a small fire on a roof at 30 Greenwich Park, a five-story brownstone.

Boston Fire spokesperson Stephen MacDonald said the cause of the fire is still unknown, but that there wasn't a grill on the roof - just flower pots on a section of rubber roof.

"It was a small fire, and the fire didn't get inside the apartment building at all," he said.

MacDonald said one firefighter was transported to the hospital with a back injury.
