Police Identify Shooting Victim

33-year-old Raymond Lemar was found dead on the sidewalk early Saturday morning.

Police have idenfitied the young man found dead on a South End sidewalk early Saturday morning as Raymond Lemar, 33, of Boston.

Lemar died after suffering from a gunshot wound, police reported. He was located around 4:51 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of East Berkeley and Harrison Avenue. Medical examiners pronounced him dead at the scene.

Boston Police continue to investigate.

The incident took place around the corner from where the MBTA recently installed a prominent sky-mounted camera in response to neighborhood crime concerns. The Old Dover Neighborhood Association recently announced a to combat illegal activity in the area, which included partnerships with Pine Street Inn and Boston Police.
