Police: Chelsea Man Pulled a Knife on Pine Street Inn Worker

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions. 

A Chelsea man was charged with pulling a knife on a Pine Street Inn employee. 

Boston Police responded to a report of a person with a knife outside of 1467 Washington Street at about 11:15 p.m. on July 16.

Officers spoke to the victim at the intersection of East Brookline and Washington Street. The victim told police that they worked at the front desk of the Pine Street Inn. The victim told the suspect that there weren’t any more beds open at the Inn. The suspect began banging on the doors, yelling for the victim to let them in.

The Inn worker got off work and was walking on Washington Street towards Massachusetts Avenue, when the suspect approached him from the other side of the street. The victim told police that the suspect brandished a six-inch long kitchen knife. The victim told police that the suspect began shouting in Spanish and pointed the knife at him. The suspect became fearful for his safety when the suspect came within feet of him.

A friend of the suspect came up and pulled him away, down West Brookline towards Shawmut Avenue. Officers found two men matching the descriptions and stopped the suspect across the street from 85 West Newton Street.

The victim identified the suspect and the police searched the area for the knife, to no avail.

Boston Police charged Roger Rosales of 41 Bloomingdale Street, Chelsea, MA with assault with dangerous weapon.
