South End Resident Charged with Assault and Battery on a Public Employee

A disturbance on Northampton Street lead to the arrest of a South End man earlier this week.

Boston Housing Police responded to a disturbance at 155 Northampton Street on Wednesday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a man threatening a Housing Authority worker.

Officers observed, through the lobby window, a man standing in front of the safety officer’s desk shouting and making threatening motions towards the safety officer. Once the officers gained entrance to the lobby, the suspect reportedly continued to shout profanities and disturb people waiting for the elevator.

Officers placed the suspect in handcuffs and told the man that he was under arrest for disorderly conduct.

The officers interviewed the safety officer, who stated that the suspect is a known and unwanted guest who was told by the management that he could no longer visit the building. When the Safety Officer informed the suspect of this, the suspect reportedly became belligerent and struck the safety officer, and threatened to kill him.

Officers charged Reginald White of 444 Harrison Avenue with assault and battery on a public employee, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
