A coordinated attack by Boston firefighters has contained an 8-alarm fire to the primary structure where it first broke out.

The department says crews are still working to knock the fire down, with several master streams and blitz guns in operation.

Boston firefighters are working to extinguish a blaze at 85 Lexington St. in East Boston.

Crews responded to the scene around 7:23 p.m., and additional units have been called to fight the fire as a series of alarms went off in rapid succession, Boston Fire Department tweeted.

There are no reported injuries at this time, according to the fire department. Deputy Chief Bart Shea is the Incident Commander.
