Police: Boston Man Threatened to Shoot B.U. Medical Center Staffers

Police arrested a man for causing a scene at the BU Medical Center on Thursday.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Where charges or arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Officers responded to reports of a violent and aggressive individual at Boston University Medical Center at about 8:26 p.m. on Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers observed two other officers physically escorting a person off of the property, according to the report. The suspect reportedly swung at the first arriving officer, striking him in the chest. Hospital workers also told police that Peguero stated, ”I’m going to get my gun and come back and shoot you in the head,” pointing directly at the staff members.

A struggle followed, said police. Officers had to restrain the suspect, who was on the ground swinging his arms and legs at anyone in the area. Officers were able to place the suspect into custody. The suspect was screaming and flailing about as he was removed from the entrance of the Menino Pavilion Emergency Room, police said.

Officers charged Nelson Peguero of 39 Boylston Street with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.
