Bank Robbery at South End Mercantile Bank

The Mercantile Bank on Washington Street was robbed on Monday morning, according to the Boston Police Department.

Police are investigating a bank robbery at Mercantile Bank in the South End that occured on Monday morning.

Boston Police confirmed that at 9:42 a.m., a call came in for a robbery at the 1320 Washington St. Mercantile Bank.

Police said that a note was passed to the teller, and that no weapon was shown. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. The suspect then fled the scene.

Witnesses described the suspect to police as a black male in his 40s, about 6'4", 280 pounds with a large black coat and sunglasses.
