Bachelor Party Ends with Reported Stabbing, Arrest At Huntington Marriott

Officers arrested Robert Hernandez, 27, of Worcester and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a bottle) after arriving on the scene to see another 27-year-old man with a large laceration to the neck area, police said.

A bachelor party may have gone bad early Sunday morning when police responded to the Marriott Hotel on 110 Huntington Ave at 3:09 a.m. for a report of a possible stabbing that landed a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Officers arrested Robert Hernandez, 27, of Worcester and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a bottle) after arriving on the scene to see another 27-year-old man with a large laceration to the neck area, police said.

"The victim, who was alert and conscious, stated that his friend struck him in the head with a bottle," according to the report. "Officers spoke to the friend who stated that the victim pushed him down to the ground and, because of that, he grabbed a bottle and struck the victim in the head."

The victim was transported to Tufts Medical Center. A witness said both men were attending a friend's bachelor party, and had been drinking heavily earlier in the evening, according to the report.
