Extremely Active Boston Condo Market

Spring has most assuredly sprung for Boston real estate! Continued recovery, lessening unemployment, and historically low interest rates are driving the market. Get all the details here.

Spring is generally the most active time of the year for condo and home sales here in the core markets of downtown Boston. Spring  has definitely sprung this year! The downtown Boston real estate market is significantly outperforming the previous 3 years with regard to the number of properties going under agreement. Median prices also remain quite strong.

Inventory (condos and single families) is down 38% in the core downtown neighborhoods, standing at 857 as of 5/22/2012,down from the same time last year (1386). (Source MLS-PIN). Details here.

So far for 2012, there has been a 15.2% increase in the number of properties sold year-to-date in the core downtown neighborhoods* (see above) of Boston, to 909 from 789 during the same period in 2011 (Source: LINK).
