Things to Know in the South End Today, Sept. 18: Condo-Buying Seminar

Here are five things happening in and around the South End today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts showers after 1 p.m. Tuesday with a high of 75. Showers with thunderstorms are also possible after midnight. The temperature will drop to about 65.

2. Condo-buying semiarLearn what it takes to buy a condo in Boston today at 6:30 p.m at the South End Library. Linda Ciborowski of Keller Williams and Paul Wilcox of Coldwell Banker will discuss current price trends, where to get the money, and how to get started. See here for more details. 

3. Preparing for an Interview: The Boston Public Library is offering a training course on how to prepare for that big job interview. Learn what to questions to anticipate and how to answer them among other viable skills from tonight 6 to 7:30 p.m.

4. It's Car-Free Week: All this week, the state is encouraging commuters to ditch the single-occupancy vehicle for walking, taking the T, bicycling or carpooling. In addition to helping cool the planet, you can get discounts and incentives at area businesses through the Department of Transportation's NuRide program.

5. Children’s Museum Closed: The Children’s Museum will be closed from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24 for maintenance. It will reopen Sept. 25.
