Things to Know, Aug. 23: Fun Run at South End Athletic Company

Here are five things going on in and around Boston today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts another warm, sunny day with a high of 86 degrees. The evening will cool off to 67 degrees and remain clear.

3. Microsoft Store Grand Opening: is opening at The Shops at the Prudential Building at 9 a.m. Head down to attend the grand opening, and be one of the first to see the community theater space, interactive Kinect gaming areas and giveaways and prizes for attendees.

4. Grab Your Running Shoes: And head down to the South End Athletic Company for their weekly fun run which includes some drills and of course, meeting cool people from the South End. They are also hosting a belated grand opening party this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Heartbreak Hill Running Company in Newton. . 

5. BCYF Red Sox Talks: The Boston Center for Youth and Families is hosting the final Sox Talk of the summer at Rogers Park at 90 Rogers Park Ave. in Brighton. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. First is the Fenway challenge: running, hitting and throwing for kids ages 7 to 14, then a famous ball player will come and speak.
