South End Foraging Walk

Leave it be or pull it out and eat it? Join the free foraging walk through the South End, Saturday, July 28 presented by the Boston Natural Areas Network. And discover plants commonly found in parks and along sidewalks that will enhance your dining experience. You will identify plants, discuss the value of each plant, and learn how to safely harvest what is abundantly available.

Part of BNAN’s horticultural series Seed, Sow & Grow, the South End Foraging Walk will take place from 9:00 a.m. to10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a half-hour weed tasting.  The tour will gather and begin at the MBTA Orange Line entrance along Massachusetts Avenue.  BNAN Garden Educator Erika Rumbley and Garden Steardship Manager Karen Chaffee will be on hand to explain how to tell the difference between plants that are tasty and healthy and weeds that should be left alone.
