Thelonious Monk Tribute

On Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 the classic sounds of legendary musician Thelonious Monk will fill The Beehive with a performance headed by famed pianist Tim Ray. The music selection of the evening will pay homage to Monk, one of the giants of jazz-- his playing was unique, idiosyncratic, percussive, and his compositions angular and innovative. Monk's tunes are the second most recorded in the history of jazz, just behind those of Duke Ellington.

Tim Ray has assembled a superstar band, including George Garzone, Phil Grenadier, Dave Clark, Bob Savine, and of course, the spirit of Thelonious Monk for a one night only tribute performance. In the kitchen, Chef Rebecca Newell will serve delicious dishes from The Beehive’s dinner menu such as Pan Roasted Day Boat Cod, Tomato Broth, Smoked Mussels and Farro Risotto ($24) and Braised Beef Brisket, Red Potatoes, Favas, Mushrooms, Corn & Horseradish ($23) from 5:00PM to 12:00AM. The Beehive’s mixologists will also be serving up some of their highly acclaimed cocktails from the menu such as the Honey Highball with Jack Daniels, Honey, Sour, Orange Bitters and a Splash of Ginger Ale ($11) and the Flying Dutchman Martini with  Bols Genever Gin, Lillet Blanc, Maraschino Liqueur, Aperol and Champagne ($12) all evening long!
