Author Andre Dubus, III to Read From 'Townie'

On Tuesday, February 26, at 6:30 PM, the South End Library and FOSEL will host acclaimed author, Andre Dubus III who will read from his compelling memoir, Townie. It describes his early life growing up amid violence and chaos on the poor side of  local towns --including Haverill --after his father, the eminent writer Andre Dubus, left the family and visited only on Sundays. Townie was the 2011 New York Times Editors' Choice. Dubus III has published five other novels-- among themHouse of Sand and Fog, made into an Academy-award nominated movie,-- teaches at U Mass Lowell, and will come out with his next novel, Dirty Love, later this year.   Author and essayist Doug Bauer will introduce him.
