Things to Know in the South End Today, Sept. 28: A Bright New Boise at BCA

Here are five things going on today in the South End and nearby.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a rainy day with a high of 61 degrees. The evening will be rainy too, with a low of 53 degrees.

2. New Play: It's opening night tonight for A Bright New Boise, a new play by the up-and-coming and OBIE winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter. The production runs from September 28 through October 20 at the Boston Center for the Arts. The show starts at 8 p.m. tonight. See here for ticket information and other details.

4Berklee Jazz Festival: Geri Allen and Joanne Brackeen team up to deliver a unique jazz show at the Berklee Performance Center at 7:30 p.m. Cost of admission is $20. See here for more details.
