PHOTOS: Olde Dutch Cottage Candy Razed to the Ground

Demolition of the Olde Dutch Cottage Candy & Antiques building began on Wednesday, when an excavator began tearing down the walls, flatting the building to the ground.

Pam Holian of Gibson Sotheby, the real estate agent for the new condos, was on hand on Wednesday, and snapped several photos of the demolition. 

The old building will be taken down to make way for a six-story condo building with first-floor retail at the intersection of Tremont and Dwight Streets, called Chevron on Tremont. 

The project is comprised of five Parisian-style luxury condos that will be priced at $3 million each. Each unit includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage parking underground. 

Similarly to the former Hite Radio building development project, the Cottage Candy sign will also be donated to the South End Historical Society.
