Lotus ran away with it, taking 47 percent of the vote on our informal poll. Fans were quick to explain why the love the hop so much. , and were also popular choices in the neighborhood.

“I was walking home from work one day and bumped into Jimmy from Lotus Designs. Jimmy quickly picked up on the fact that I had had a bad day. Jimmy did not let the fact that he had already closed the store stop him from opening back up. He disappeared for a few minutes and came back out with a beautiful bouquet and handed it to me. He told me to cheer up and enjoy the flowers. I had tears in my eyes when I thanked him. I will never forget that beautiful act of kindness,” wrote South End Patch reader .
