Berklee Jazz Festival One of Several Fall Events

The festival is a highlight in Boston's busy autumn schedule.

Enjoy the humidity while it lasts, because pretty soon the air will turn crisp and cool. There's no better time than the fall to get out and explore Boston, so here's some events to put on your calendar now.

Fashion's Night Out
September 6
Newbury Street

Last year Newbury Street was closed to traffic for the first time in years for Fashion's Night Out. The growing street fair features special sales and goodies at the many shops along Newbury Street, live music, a catwalk, and more.

The Fenway Fall Run

The Fenway Fall Run is a 5K (3.1 Mile) run/walk in the historic Fens near Fenway Park in Boston. The race supports K Street, a storefront at 74 Kilmarnock Street in the Fenway, that for 21 years, has supported members of the LGBT community and Friends, who strive to live sober, productive and happy lives. K Street is a safe meeting space for 12-Step programs and other activities that build community and healthy living. Directions.

Boston Fashion Week

If Fashion's Night Out is the warm-up, you can really get your style on during Boston Fashion Week, with 10 days of glamorous runway presentations, industry events, shopping incentives, exhibitions, informative programming, and exciting parties taking place all over the city.

Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival
September 29
South End/Back Bay

The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival has delighted tens of thousands with a host of jazz, Latin, blues, and groove acts. The community comes out in force—with attendance swelling to 70,000 strong at its height—to enjoy world-class music on three stages, great eats, and good times stretching six blocks in the Back Bay and South End. Families are entertained with face painting, inflatables, photos, and an instrument petting zoo. More than 70 vendors participate, making the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival the place to be.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk 2012
October 11, 5 p.m.
Boston Common

Join the fight against blood cancer by participating in the Light The Night Walk. Light The Night is the nation’s night to pay tribute and bring hope to millions of people with cancer. Walkers gather in the Boston Common and walk a two-mile course in twilight, holding twinkling balloons—white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost. Head of the Charles
October 20 - 21
Charles River Esplanade

Grab a blanket and some friends, and set up on the Espanade to watch the annual rowing regatta along the banks Charles River. Snack on food from local vendors, and enjoy. With hundreds of specatators every year, it's a tradition you don't want to miss.
