Fall Activities to Keep Your Kids Healthy, Happy, and Stimulated!

With the colder weather settling in, it's sometimes difficult to think up activities to keep your little ones occupied. But have no fear, Coco Baby can solve your problem!

Fall is here in full swing! As we near Halloween, summertime visits to playgrounds, beaches, and the park are things of the past.  With the colder weather settling in, it can be difficult to think up activities to keep your little ones occupied; but don't worry, we are here to help. At Coco Baby (a children's clothing boutique on Washington Street), we have converted our downstairs into a play space that both you and your children can enjoy through weekly classes, free time, and frequent co-hosted events.

One of the best things you can do in the fall and winter months to keep your kids busy and engaged is to encourage interaction with other children.  At Coco Baby, we provide the opportunity for your little ones to socialize with others their own age and develop the crucial interpersonal skills that come with class participation. Our weekly classes range from soccer to yoga to music to spanish language lessons, and are inclusive of children of all different age groups.  We want the best for your child, so we provide quality instructors, learning materials, and a fabulous play space that fosters creativity and comfort.

We know you love to attend classes and play at home with your kids, but we also know that sometimes you just need some "me" time.  Especially with the changing of seasons and the stresses of the holidays swiftly approaching.  Wouldn't it be nice to be able to grab a warm cup of chai with a friend you've missed, or hit Newbury for some much-needed fall shopping?  But how do you ensure that your children are in good hands and enjoying themselves while you're gone? Coco Baby has a solution.  In addition to our weekly classes, we offer a Drop-&-Go program on Wednesday afternoons in conjunction with UrbanSitter.  You can drop your kids off for a few hours with an experienced, registered babysitter for a group play-date so you can take care of all those errands! Our program includes reading, crafting, music making, and peer interaction, so you can be confident that your kids will be engaged and productive.

If you are looking for some ideas of fun activities to do with your children outside of Coco Baby, we can help with that as well!  Here are a few of our favorites that are sure to be crowd (kid) pleasers:

  • Visit a pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins.  You do the carving, and they can help take out all the goop inside! They'll love the finished product as well.

  • Grab a rake and gather as many leaves as you can from the street or your yard onto a patch of grass, and let the kids go crazy jumping into it.

  • Have your little one pick their favorite leaf and do some leaf prints (Sandwich the leaf between two pieces of paper and have your child use a crayon to color and reveal an impression of the lead underneath).

  • Make a scarecrow with some of those old clothes you've been wanting to get rid of.

  • Take a weekend trip to Salem and check out the Halloween scene!

  • Pick apples (before it gets too cold!)

  • Pick a Halloween decoration of your choice (pumpkin, little skeleton or ghost, etc.) and play a hide-and-seek game.  Hide the object around the house, and when your little one finds it, it's their turn to hide it!

  • Happy Fall everyone! Hope these ideas help, and we look forward to seeing you at Coco Baby soon!
