Last Live Jazz Concert Tuesday Night at South End Library

Catch a performance by the former lead guitarist of The Temptations, Marvin Gayne and Aretha Franklin.

Capping off its summer jazz series, the South End Library hosts a solid lineup on Tuesday Night you won't want to miss.

Vocalist Wali Ali, who made his reputation in the music world as lead guitarist for The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and others, will join saxophonist/vocalist Pat Loomis, a Berklee College graduate who went on to perform with Diana Krall, and Phil Collins, and jazz band WeJazzUp, featuring pianist Frank Wilkins.

The concert series is organized each year by the Friends of the South End Library, which Loomis helped to organize. His son, Antonio, was one of the five Boston Arts Academy music students to perform two weeks ago in the South End with the Charlie Brown Blues Band.

Tuesday night's concert is completely free, and a snack of sliced watermelon will be provided. The library recommends that you bring a chair. The show will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Library Park, located on Tremont Street between West Newton Street and Rutland Square.
