Five Things: Famous Tenor to Perform in South End Saturday

Today is Friday, Feb. 17. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. After some morning rain, the sun is supposed to peak out around noon and shine by 3 p.m. Temperatures could hit 50 degrees.

2. Ronan Tynan is probably best known for singing “God Bless America” at New York Yankees games, but don’t hold that against him – he also sang the National Anthem at the New England Patriots 45-10 playoff win over the Denver Broncos on Jan. 14, (in a Gronk jersey!). The Irish tenor will perform a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in the South End’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Tickets are $25. Complete details.

3. Chick-fil-A is in talks with Northeastern University to open a franchise in the school’s student center, according to the school’s student newspaper, but not without controversy. Let us know what you think.
