Attention Artists: Grants Available from Boston Cultural Council
Grants support a variety of artistic programs and activities such as exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.

The Boston Cultural Council is now accepting grant applications for its 2014 grant funding cycle.
The Boston Cultural Council (BCC), is part of the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events, and annually distributes funds allocated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

According to Council Manager Arreen Andrew, the grants support a variety of artistic programs and activities in Boston such as exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.
The deadline for applications is Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. For guidelines and complete information on the Boston Cultural Council, call BCC, at 617-635-2437 or by email at BCC@cityofboston.gov. Application and guidelines are available online here and here through the Boston Cultural Council's website.

The BCC is made up of Boston residents appointed by Mayor Menino to serve for up to six years each. The BCC annually reviews applications during fall meetings "to evaluate the overall quality of proposed programming and its potential benefit to diverse audiences in neighborhoods throughout Boston."
