Rutland Square Neighborhood Spring Clean Up

At our request, and in cooperation with the City Public Works Department, the Spring Clean Up for the Rutland Square neighborhood will be held on Saturday, April 21. This date gives us a head start on the clean up a week before the citywide "Boston Shines" campaign which also includes the rest of the South End neighborhoods.

Getting a jump earlier also means that tools, resources and street sweepers will be able to uniquely concentrate on our neighborhood (Bay Village will also have their clean up on the same date as us), and allow for more resources to be available the following weekend when the rest of the city participates in Boston Shines.

We need a terrific showing of neighbors for the Clean Up. Tools (brooms, shovels, bags, gloves, etc.) will be dropped off and picked up right on Rutland Square; we will send teams of neighbors to clean Hiscock Park, Library Park, and the streets of our neighborhood (Rutland, West Newton, Columbus, etc.). As always, we will supply coffee, cider, and munchies for all our volunteers.

Please plan on joining us at 9 AM (or anytime that you can spare between 9AM and 12 noon). This is a great opportunity to meet new neighbors, put some shine back into our neighborhood and our parks, and give back. So we can plan on an appropriate number of tools, please let me know if you'll be able to join us at stephenfox@verizon.net
