Volunteers Needed for WGBH's Classical Cartoon Festival

WGBH 99.5 All Classical presents the Classical New England Cartoon Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 from 10am-4pm at Symphony Hall, Boston, and we need your help to ensure kids of all ages enjoy classical music, their favorite Warner Brothers cartoons on a giant screen, live performances, storytellers, and more during the event.

Please review all the Cartoon Festival volunteer position descriptions listed below and email me at jaime_reese@wgbh.org if you'd like to help. Please make sure to include the following information in your email response:

- Your full name

- Preferred position (e.g. costume character, floater, face painter, etc.  ** If you’d like to be a costume character, please note your character preference based on the size requirement provided below)

- Preferred shift (Saturday, November 9th from 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm)

Date: Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013; two shifts: 9am-1:30pm or 1-5pm

Costume Handler (6 per shift)

Description: Assist costume character move about the crowds at Symphony Hall.

Face Painters (6 per shift)

Description: Design simple color images on kids’ faces. **Sample drawings will be provided as examples. 

Floater (15 per shift)

Description: Provide guests with directions to activities, bathrooms, etc., and fill in for other positions as needed.  Floaters must be friendly, outgoing and eager to provide assistance to guests.

Musical Petting Zoo Volunteers

Description: Help children learn how to play string instruments (violin, viola and cello)

Kids Activity Area

Description: Assist kids with coloring projects, computer based games and other engaging interactive activities.
