This past summer, Camfield Estates teamed up with WeCast Productions – an internet video production company – to launch The Forever Ink Project, which was made possible by a MassHousing Youth Resident Activities Program grant awarded to the apartment community.  With the help of WeCast Productions Media Coaches Brandy Sales and Jae Williams, the South End residents, learned to write, produce, shoot and edit videos.  Through this nine-week partnership with WeCast Productions, the teens learned about all aspects of video production – from writing a script to perfecting their acting techniques to running the cameras.

The South End residents were recently recognized for their participation in The Forever Ink Project at the Celebration of the Arts, an annual fundraising event honoring art education.  An audience of more than 500 was in attendance for the video premier at the Paramount Center in Boston.

According to Camfield Estates Tenants Association Board of Directors President, Paulette Ford, The Forever Ink Project was a positive experience for residents, providing a detailed introduction to video production.  “The WeCast Productions videography program has been a fantastic opportunity for our talented young residents, allowing them to share their creative ideas,” said Ford.

The Celebration of the Arts event is a collaborative effort by WeCast Productions, ArtsEmerson and the Elma Lewis Center for Civic Engagement, Learning and Research.
