South End Community Health Center Creates the Dr. Gerald Hass Fund for Children

The South End Community Health Center (SECHC) is excited to announce the creation of the Dr. Gerald Hass Fund for Children. The announcement will take place at a special reception on September 26th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the 400 Shawmut Avenue.

Dr. Gerald Hass has had an amazing career, thus far. He received an excellent education in London, England and trained with some of the best doctors in the UK and has been practicing medicine since the 1950’s. He is truly a remarkable man; generous, modest, intelligent and polite. He loves what he does and enjoys making a difference in the lives of his patients. Throughout his career he has always kept his priorities straight, and continues to give back to the community by treating the poor and underserved population of the South End and surrounding neighborhoods.

The South End Community Health Center with its Board of Directors unanimously decided to launch the Fund for Children to honor his work but also to continue his legacy of advocating for exceptional medical, dental and behavioral health services for poor and underserved children.

“We are delighted to recognize Dr. Hass’ dedication to the Health Center and to his patients for over 44 years,” said Robert H. Johnson, President and CEO of South End Community Health Center. “The Fund for Children will enable us to maintain and continue to offer outstanding care to over 4,100 poor and underserved pediatric patients each year.”
