New England Revolution Stars Visit MSPCA Ahead of Charity Collection Drive

For the third year in a row, the New England Revolution will host its Charitable Drive Series – collecting supplies for area non-profit organizations at select home matches this season.

The series first collection, set for Sunday, June 8 versus the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium (5:00 p.m.), will benefit the Boston’s Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA)-Angell Animal Medical Center – which provides care for thousands of animals each year, including medical treatment.

Fans attending Sunday’s match are encouraged to bring blankets, towels, sheets, canned food, treats and durable toys for pets (acomplete list of items needed for various types of animals is available at the MSPCA-Angell website).

At each collection, donations will be accepted two hours before kickoff through the first 15 minutes of the match. Fans who make a donation to the charitable drives on the dates above will receive an autographed Revolution player card.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, Revolution stars Diego Fagundez and Andrew Farrell visited the MSPCA in Boston to meet the types of animals Sunday’s collection will benefit. The pair - joined by Revs staff writer & online host Jeff Lemieux – played with rabbits, cats and dogs, before taking pit bull mix, Nenah, outside to play.
