Local Laces up with Goodwill’s Boston Marathon Team

Meet first time marathon runner and black lab lover, Greg Faux!  He will be running on April 21st with Goodwill’s Boston Marathon Team, Running For Great Kids.  This amazing group of 23 runners, which Faux is proud to be a part of, come from across the country with the common goal to raise money for Goodwill’s Youth Initiative.

“I’ve gotten to know Goodwill over the past couple of years and am so impressed with the work they do with the youth in our community,” shares Faux.  “It’s an honor to run on behalf of an organization that makes such concrete contributions to our neighborhood.”

Through after-school programs, mentoring partnerships, and summer camp opportunities, Goodwill’s Youth Initiative helps youth in underserved Boston communities prepare for adulthood while focusing on improving their academic skills and building aspirations.

Greg enjoys biking, skiing, and tennis when he is not running along the Charles River.  However, he admits that training for a marathon is a good reminder that there are no short cuts and if you take your time and watch where you’re going you can accomplish big things.

All funds raised go directly to Goodwill's Youth Initiative so show your support for Greg’s hard work as well as the youth of Boston and visit http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/GregFaux/2014 today!
