Learn what's great about Mendelssohn

On Friday, January 24th, the Celebrity Series of Boston will present conductor, composer, and commentator Rob Kapilow as he explains "What Makes It Great?" about Mendelssohn's Trio in D minor. In the first half of the program, Kapilow will analyze historical and musical points of interest in the piece with the help of the Gryphon Trio, a critically acclaimed string trio. In the second half of the program, the audience experiences Kapilow's enlightening interpretation to the fullest as the Gryphon Trio performs the complete piece.

For almost 20 years, Rob Kapilow has brought the joy and wonder of classical music – and unraveled some of its mysteries – to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
