Job Creation Strategy Touted

Citing a Boston Redevelopment Authority report predicting that 17,000 jobs will be created in Boston over the next three years, mayoral candidate Charlotte Golar Richie said "I will push to double that number during my first term in office, and I will make sure that Boston residents receive a fair share of these new jobs, particularly those who have been hardest hit over the past several years by the recession.”

  • Challenging the business community to create 30,000 new jobs in three years
  • Preparing young Boston residents for new construction jobs
  • Creating a Neighborhood Jobs Trust 
  • Working with local trade unions to fuel apprentice programs
  • Supporting new high school vocational training programs
  • Advocating for a minimum wage increase to $10.00 per hour
  • Creating a diverse Mayor’s Jobs Council to advise on job growth strategy and tactics.
